Yes, i like . But No, not everyday
if you ask me what i missed most of my mom's cooking i'd need 124123434 days to think abt it.
my mom doesnt cook when we were younger. we paid for 'home-cooked food delivery' right to our doorstep. she's a working mom and i think it's cool. we still do sit-down lunch/dinner coz they'll make it a point to come home for lunch and dinner. my dad is very tradition he likes sit-down dinner . we were not allowed to watch tv during makan time. focus on the food , he said:p . nah , he didnt say that . he said 'do the right thing at the right time' -.-
when we moved to kl we 1st lived next to my relatives. my grandpa/grandma/aunt /their maid etc will callout to us @ the fence during makan time or whenever they cooked something good. our fridge at home was used to store my aunt's veggies..haaa.. we only had instant noodles and eggs at home coz again , we dont cook. the only time we played chefs was, when we made cookies and cake, some kick-ass sushi and failed egg tarts.
..
...
and we homemade our bread too when my mom bought a bread-making machine.
frankly speaking, i prefer to eat out. i love my aunt's culinary skill she's the best chef i know so far, i esp love her laksa and curry puffs but still i do not like sit-down dinner on a daily basis. it's so rigid.
thankfully my relatives are ok with us eating in front of the tv.....:p ( not enough seats ma)
now that we moved further away from my relatives , we lagi dont cook! and i think it's perfectly fine coz i really dont fancy sit down meals EVERYDAY. i really like the idea of no cooking.
when i feel syok i'll boil soup , else i'll just eat microwaved food, tapao-ed food, simple food like bread and butter, junk-food ,frozen-food, simply-cook food....haaaa ya we have adopted the dicipline of 'freestyleeeee'
the only time i miss home-cooked food was CNY Reunion dinner< 3!! ...and many times when the fragrance of belacan fried rice, hor-pau dan, sundays porridge of my neighbours' flewwwww into my house. (why the grass is always greener at the other end? why other ppl's food always taste better?) yeah but other than that! yay to minimal cooking . no need to wash. save water, no need to buy washing detergent and end up polluting our dear river.....:P
ya i know i'm weird but i really like my freedom to eat and do whatever & whenever i want & i love it this way too much.
